Mr. James “Randy” Benjamin Myers, son of the late Lillie Mae Johnson McCray and the late James Benjamin Myers was born in Conway, South Carolina on January 31, 1949. He entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at his home in Conway, South Carolina.
During his childhood years, Randy received his formal education in the public schools of Horry County. Randy was a proud graduate of the Whittemore High School, Class of 1968. After graduation Randy enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country for seven years in Vietnam, Germany, and several states.
After his service he was employed by Aberdeen Manufacturing for 41 years. He was also employed in the retail and food industry for several years. At the time of his departure he was employed by Burger King.
He leaves to cherish his first love, Maxine Diane Swint and to this union a daughter and son. While this union didn’t last forever as they hoped they remained close until he departed. He also leaves a son with the late Linda Lewis. Randy didn’t belong to a church, he believed that the church was in him and through this belief he had a strong relationship with God and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior a few years ago.
He leaves a legacy of memories to his daughter, Erica Williams (Oscar) of Powder Springs, GA, two sons James Myers of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Greg Smalls of Charlotte, NC; six brothers Harold Johnson, Timothy (Sadie) Myers, Aaron McCray, Bobby McCray, Levester (Glenda) McCray, and Richard Lewis; four sisters, Leanora Myers-Crute’, Donna (Clyde) Shaw, Sheletta McCray Hinds, Wendy Faye Proctor; sister-in law Bernice Powell; two great aunts, Marie Williams and Hazel Johnson Spruil; four grandsons, Justin, Daniel, D’Mari, and Joshua; three granddaughters, Aaliyah, Ariana, and Mi’Naya; two great grands, Ragan and Jayceon.
Randy is preceded in death by his two sisters, Jame Eta Carson, Cynthia Lewis, and one brother, Arthur Powell and leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
James "Randy" Benjamin Myers of Conway passed away on April 16, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel. Viewing will be held prior to service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
