Jannie Evans of Myrtle Beach passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024.
A Time to Be Born:
Mrs. Jannie Brown Middleton Evans, the daughter of the late Mr. William Brown Sr. and Mrs. Mattie Taylor was born on June 11, 1953, in Holly Hill, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 13, 2024.
A Time to Grow:
At an early age, Jannie grew in Christ and learned God’s word while attending Galilee Christian Church. She was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County where she graduated from Roberts High School in Holly Hill, South Carolina. After marriage, she became a dedicated member of Greater St. Paul United Methodist Church in Cross, South Carolina.
A Time to Love:
Jannie married her high school sweetheart, Mr. Gerald Middleton in 1972. To this union, two children were born, Aron & Marian. She also adopted and reared two other children: Dana and Terrance. They were married for seventeen years before he went home to be with the Lord. She later met and married, Mr. Johnny Evans of Myrtle Beach South Carolina and reared his two nieces, (Monique Singleton & April McCraven) where they resided until his death.
A Time of Service:
Jannie had a bold and servant heart which was evident in her service to the church and in the community. She opened her home and was a foster parent to several foster children. She loved God and was a devoted member of St. Mary Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She enjoyed attending bible study and watching other Christian television programs. Jannie was friendly and confident in knowing that she was a child of God. She worked as a dedicated driver and worker for Orangeburg Area Resource Center where she was responsible for transporting patients. Additionally, Jannie was employed as a Residential Aid at the Coastal Center in Ladson, South Carolina.
A Time for Family:
Jannie was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. William Brown Sr. and Mrs. Mattie Taylor Brown, Mr. Gerald Middleton, Mr. Johnny Evans, and her siblings, William Jr., Thomas, Robert, Eva, Sara, Delores, and Carrie.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Aron (Ericka) Middleton of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Marian (Vincent) Green of Elloree, South Carolina, Dana (Steven) McGee of Boston, Massachusetts and Terrance (Brooke) Brown of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; grandchildren, Aron Jr., Gabrielle Middleton, VJ and Noah Green, Taren and Tj Brown; step-daughter, Denise Chapman; brother, Eugene Brown of Boston, Massachusetts; sisters, Lottie Brown of Boston, Massachusetts, Rosa Rambert of Charleston, South Carolina, Shirlle & Willie Irvin of Boston, Massachusetts, Martha Ansley of Boston, Massachusetts, and Minnie Young of Jacksonville, North Carolina; sisters-in-law: Annie (Stephen) Davis, Shirley (James) Jackson, Agnes (Evangelist Isaac) Pinckney, Verbertine Polite, Harriet (Carlton) Chambers, Mariann (Francis) Green, Rose (Elder Michael) Riley, all of Rockland & Orange County, New York, Alpha (Gregory) Kinsley of Columbia, South Carolina; brothers in law, David (Sheree) Middleton, Anthony Middleton of New York, and Frank Jenkins of Eutawville, South Carolina; along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 17, 2024, at St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church. There will be a viewing 1 hour prior to the service. Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel is assisting the Evans Family.
