Jeanette O. Dix

Jeanette Ostina Dix was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 3, I960 to Mae Jeannette Dix and David Dix, Sr. She transitioned peacefully on October 28, 2024. As a toddler, she moved to Newark NJ in I962.

Jeanette began her education in the Newark Public Schools. She attended Quitman St Elementary School, Branch Brook School, and completed her secondary education at Essex County Vocational School where she received her high school diploma.

Later in life she joined Christ Church in Montclair, NJ. There Jeanette was baptized and became a member of the church choir.

Jeanette enjoyed crocheting and teaching Kenesha all the tricks to her trade. She enjoyed playing the video game Jack Pot with Jhamier for hours. She also loved writing, singing, listening to music, and playing the piano. Jeanette loved and treasured her collection of turtles.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her grandparents Mary Royster, Elmore Royster. Her father David Dix Sr, aunt Marie Jones, uncle Malcolm Royster, and nephew Terance Malcolm Dix.

Jeanette leaves to cherish her memories her mother Mae Jeannette Dix, uncle Jesse Royster, brother David Dix Jr., sister Deneen Dix, sister Tena Rivera, nephews David Dix 111, William Glass, Emmanuel Lovelace, niece Nijah Dix, great-niece Heaven Wilson-Dix, great-nephew Tymir Wilson Dix, Jayden Wilson-Dix, Da'Vontae King Shamir Dix cousins Kenesha Nazia Marie Archer and Jhamir D'Aundre Reed and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel.  Interment will follow at Ocean Woods Cemetery.  There will be a viewing 1 hour prior to the service.
