Jefferson S. Barnes was born on May 30, 1963 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Ernest Sameul Barnes, Jr. and the late Catherine Smith Powell. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Jefferson was raised in Rock Hill, South Carolina attending Rock Hill High School. Later in life he studied hard and earned his GED. He met the love of his life Laura, and they were married on February 15, 1993.
Jefferson worked as an Inspector at an Inspection Station for the Amaco Company in North Carolina. He drove dump trucks for a construction company. Jefferson was a huge fan of all types of sports including: football, where his favorite team was the Miami Dolphins, Nascar racing with his favorite driver being, Davie Allison. He also enjoyed bowling, riding bikes, and swimming.
Along with his parents, Jefferson was preceded in death by one brother, David Barnes.
Jefferson’s memory will live on through his wife, Laura Barnes; his sons, Tyler Barnes and Michael Johnson; his brother, Kenneth Barnes; his sister, Sandra; three granddaughters, Raelynn Barnes, Aliza Cooper, and Eliana Barnes; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
