Mr. Jimmy Washington was born on November 28, 1958, in Myrtle Beach SC to the late Mr. Richard and Albertha Washington. He transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, March 27, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones in his home. His father, mother, and sisters, Contina “Tina” Washington and Rosa Jean Singleton preceded him in death.
Mr. Washington was a proud product of the Racepath community. He attended Mt. Olive AME church where he was a steward, treasurer, member of the male choir, a sponsor for vacation bible school, and the president of the Lay Organization. After graduating from Myrtle Beach High School, he went off to attend Benedict College and once he returned to the community, he contributed in different aspects. Jimmy was one of the area’s most well-known distinguished public servants. He served on the Horry County School Board, held a position as a Horry County Councilman, and worked for Margaritaville Restaurant as a manager and corporate trainer.
Jimmy married Ronetta Washington, and they were blessed with two daughters that he was forever proud of, Andrena (Roderick) Baker and Tiara Washington. His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his five loving grandchildren, Mi’Angel, Derek “Tre,” Landon, Truth, and Honest.
Mr. Jimmy Washington is survived by three brothers, Coleman Washington, Richard Washington, and Winston “Seaberry” (Barbara Jean) Jordan; Six sisters, Lucrecia “Dia” (James) Young, Reverend Frances (Clyde) Washington, Barbara Collins, Judy (James) Rogers, Martha Harvin, and Phyllis Dozier; Two aunts Blanche Washington and Josephine Gore; an uncle Harrison Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, coworkers from Margaritaville and friends. A special recognition to his nieces Malisha Riley and Latorsha Myers and his sister Frances Washington. Jimmy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
