Sister Joann Pugh was born on September 30, 1960, in Conway, S.C. She departed this life on October 2, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Bessie Mae Pugh and late Rev. Jonah Booth Sr.
She was a graduate of Conway High School class of 1978. She went on to obtain an Associates' Degree from Horry Georgetown Technical College where she was a founding member of the Ronald McNair Club. Joann ended her career at Champus-TriCare as a claims processor. Joann was converted at a young age and was baptized as a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. She went on to be a faithful member of New Life Outreach until she became ill.
Joann was an avid reader; who enjoyed alone time with her coffee and a good book. She was a loving and devoted mother. Joanns greatest joy came through the time that she was able to spend with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Maternal grandmother, Marie Pugh.
She leaves to cherish her memory of her son Kentrell O. Pugh (Latashia) of Conway. Her Stepmother, Betty Booth of Conway. A loving sister, Alease Eaddy of Conway. Two brothers: Rev. Terry Booth (Deborah) and Rev. Jonah Booth Jr. both of Conway. Aunt, Margaret Pugh of Conway, Uncle: Thurman Pugh of Conway, 7 Grandchildren, 2 Great-grands, and special cousins, Anthony, Ronnie, Pshanda, and Gabrielle. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Joann Pugh of Conway passed on October 2, 2021. There will be a graveside service held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2021, at St. Paul's Cemetery in Conway. A viewing will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.
