John Gregory Jones

Mr. John Gregory Jones was born July 30, 1976, to Rev. John Luther Jones, Jr. and the late Cynthia McCray Jones. He departed this life on Thursday, October 1, 2020, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. 

Born in Conway, South Carolina Greg was a lifelong area resident. He attended Conway Public Schools and was a graduate of Conway High School, Class of 1995. He currently resides in Murrells Inlet, SC. He worked towards an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration at Benedict College in SC and graduated from Edwards Waters College, FL with a Bachelor' Degree in Political Science. He was a member of AL Post 215. He served in the US Army from 2001 - 2007 and become a Veteran. He was a former employee of NADO in Norfolk VA and Owner of U.E.V Clothing Company. 

Greg cherished spending time with his family. He also enjoyed playing with his children and watching sports. He was a Carolina Partners and Chicago Bulls (any team with LeBron James) fanatic. Those that knew him, knew that he was very passionate about his teams. Greg’s charming personality and beautiful smile will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Greg leaves to forever cherish his precious memories: His wife Disheena Chandler Jones of Murrells Inlet, SC; his sons Dae’ John Jones, Conway, SC and Kaiden Chavez Vereen of Murrells Inlet, SC; his daughters Gwendolyn Cynthia Jones and I’rielle Disheena Jones of Murrells Inlet, SC; loving parents, Rev. John Luther (Lois) Jones, Jr. of Conway, SC and grandparents: Thomas and Mary Hicks of Bucksport, SC, one grandmother-in-law Sally Moody of Murrells Inlet, SC; one brother, Luther Jones, III; five sisters, Centhia (Myron) McCray, Leslie McCray, Calandra Jones, Wanda Waterman all of SC and Teresa Waterman of NY; two sisters-in-law; Janice Moody and Jasmine Moody of SC; two nephews, Marvin (Nahomie) McCray, Jr. of SC and Ishen Jones of TX; five nieces Ophelia Jones, Chattiqua Jones, Tanesha Jones, Brianna McCray and Noah Jones all of SC; 10 great-nieces and nephews along with a host of aunties, uncles, and cousins. 

John Gregory Jones of the Bucksport Community passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 10th at Oean View Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.
