Mr. Johnny R. Lewis was born on June 21, I954 in Conway, South Carolina to the late Johnnie Wade Brown and Jobie Mae Lewis (Lloyd Curtis) Bell, Sr. His last sunset was on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, when the Master called the roll and the name of Johnny R. Lewis was taken from the Book of Life.
Johnny attended the public schools of Horry County and graduated from Myrtle Beach High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served for over 20 years receiving honorable commendations, medals, badges, and awards. After retiring from the military, he worked as a Security Officer for Grand Strand Medical Center.
He was a devoted husband to his wife Dellarie Lewis and to this union, one child was born.
Johnny was an avid football fan who also enjoyed cooking, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. In his early years, he was a member of a dance trio group called "The Nassau Boys of Myrtle Beach".
Along with his father, Johnnie Wade Brown, four siblings, Daryl W. Brown, Sharon D. Brown, Monica Y. Brown, and Joyce Stokes all preceded him in death.
Johnny leaves to cherish loving memories his wife, Dellarie Lewis of Myrtle Beach, SC; son, Jonathan Lewis of Myrtle Beach, SC; granddaughter, Holly Sarvis of Myrtle Beach, SC; four brothers, Antonio Lewis, Danny C. Brown and Donald Dion Brown of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Lloyd Curtis Bell, Jr. of Capitol Heights, MD; three sisters, Matasha D. Phillips of Myrtle Beach, SC, Marilyn Davis and Phyllis Bell of Capitol Heights, MD along with a host of loving family members and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church. there will be a viewing 1 hour prior to the Church. Interment will be at 2:00 PM with Military Honors.
