Mr. Jonathan Butler, Sr., son of the late George Butler and Fanny Mae Jones-Butler was born on September 29, 1954. He departed this life on Monday, September 12, 2022, at the Grand Strand Medical Center.
Jonathan Butler, Sr. grew up in the community called, 'Tin Top A(y', located in Conway, S.C. He attended Friendship Baptist Church, as a child and graduated from Conway High School, in 1973. While in High School, Jonathan majored in the Marching Band and the ROTC. After graduation, he and Remell McCantsjoined in Holy Matrimony, on September 27, 1973. Shortly after marriage, Jonathan joined the Navy' and served our country for nineteen- and one-half years
He was preceded in his death by one sister, Ernestine Parson (Andrew/both deceased), and one brother; George Butler Jr
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are his wife, Remell Butler of Conway, SC;., one brother, Aaron Butler ( Deborah), Conway, S.C, two sisters; Sandra Parker (Ronnie), Conway, S.C., Fannie L Butler; Albany, N.Y., sister-n-law; Fannie Mae Butler Conway, S. C; two sons; Myron Lamont Butler (Tameka) and Jonathan Butler Jr., both of Conway, S.C.; six grandchildren: JaiOnn Remell Butler Jonathan Xavier Butler Jeremiah Chunn, Jemiah Chunn, Jordan Chunn, and Janae Straughta.
In addition, he leaves to cherish his father-in-law; Jerry McCants, Conway, S.C; sister-in-laws: Jerrie Dowe games) Longs, S.C, Hattie Bennett (Franklin/ deceased), of Loris, S.C: Helen Sanders (Phillip/-deceased), Wanda Tribble (Stanley), Geneva McCants; of Conway, S.C.; brother-inlaws; Robert McCants ( Priscilla), Pearly McCants (Cora), Edward McCants, and Melvin McCants (Sharon); all of Conway, S.C., and a host of cousins, other
relatives, and friends.
Jonathan Butler of the Cochran Community of Conway passed away on September 12, 2022. There will be a viewing held on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel. There will be a graveside service held on Monday, September 19, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Greater St. James AME Church in the Cochran Community in Conway.
