Joseph Parker Obituary

Joseph Edward Parker, affectionately known to many as “Bruh,” passed away peacefully in Conway, South Carolina, at the age of 73.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Joseph was the beloved son of the late Bessie Webb and Freddie Parker, Sr. A proud veteran, Joseph served his country as an Army Ranger during the Vietnam War, facing the harshest of battles and even surviving a gunshot wound, yet continuing with courage that defined his life.

After his military service, Joseph returned home and became a city bus driver, faithfully serving his community for over 20 years. His career was cut short after a tragic stabbing incident, but Joseph, in true warrior fashion, never let hardship steal his spirit. He remained a vibrant and joyful presence wherever he entered.

Joseph was known for his witty banter, charismatic presence, and signature greeting, “What up folks!” Whether you were family, friends, or strangers, you were guaranteed a smile when Joseph was near. His playful humor and smooth charm brought light to many lives.

He is survived by his loving children: LeQuinton Parker of Atlanta, GA, and Latonia King (Tilden) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren Christopher Parker, Quenton Thomas, Kadeja Watts (Shajuan), Cameron Weaver, Jonathan Washington (Aria); and his cherished great-grandchildren Chace Parker, Ryder Washington, and Romi Washington. Joseph also leaves behind his devoted sisters: Iris Middleton, Vanessa Epps (Floyd), and special sister Stephanie McCrary, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss his strength, laughter, and unshakable spirit.

Joseph was more than a veteran, father, and brother; he was a symbol of resilience, love, and legacy. He was loved. He was Bruh.
