Joseph Tyler

Joseph Tyler, formerly of Fair Bluff, NC passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, in Queens, NY.

Joseph Jerome Tyler was born on April 26, 1980, to Lilly Ruth Tyler and Joseph Logan. He departed this life on Friday, April 28, 2023, at his residence in Queens, New York.

Joseph grew up in Fair Bluff and attended some high school. He later decided to join Job Corps where he finished high school and earned a degree in welding. He lived in Franklin, NC for several years before moving to Cartersville, GA. He lived there for 20 years. "Joe" as he was affectionately called, would go to New York often and in January he took a job and decided he would reside there until the job was finished.

Joe was a very lovable friendly person who never met a stranger. People would always take him under their wings because that was the type of love he would pour out. He was always helping the elderly, giving to children, and was a jack of all trades.

Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Allen Jerome Tyler; his sister, Shakelia Brantel Tyler; his grandparents, Sammie Tyler and Sadie Ray Tyler; his uncle, Samuel Pearl Taylor; his aunt, Geneva Darby; his great grandparents, great uncles, great aunts, and cousins.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories his daughter, Nijada Marcia Tyler and one grandson, Messiah Amir Hinton both of Cartersville, GA; his parents, Lilly Ruth Tyler of Fair Bluff, NC and Joseph Logan of Queens, NY; two sisters, Emily Santana Tyler of Whiteville, NC and Hope Tyler of Baytown, TX; three nieces, Princess Tyler and Monica Tyler of Evergreen, NC and Zahnay Marie Tyler of Baytown, TX; one nephew, Shawn Tyler of Evergreen, NC; one uncle, Robert Harold Tyler; eight aunts, Mattiline Ray Tyler of Durham, NC, Deborah Elisa Ray Tyler, Jacqueline Tyler, Brenda A. Tyler and Sadie Elaine (Ronnie) Mearite all of Fair Bluff, NC, Minister Emma Bone and Vanessa Logan both of Whiteville, NC and Joyce Bullock of Waccamaw, NC; a great-uncle, Little Buddy of Philadelphia, PA; two special friends, Jerome Picking and Perry Cooley who he had known for 20 years; a special friend Lusunya Gay of the home in Cartersville, GA; two special uncles, Ronnie Mearite and Bobby Tyler and a special aunt, Sadie; a host of cousins and friends.

There will be a funeral service held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, at Butler Branch Baptist Church in Fair Bluff, NC. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel will be assisting this family.
