Mrs. Julia Worthan Johnson was born on May 7, 1956, in North Carolina to the late Carnelius and Ella Worthan Vaught. She entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Julia attended the Chestnut Consolidated School in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where she was a member of the basketball team.
Sister Julia joined the Macedonia AME Church in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and made Him her personal Savior.
Sister Julia worked at the PX on multiple Military Bases.
Sister Julia loved her family dearly. She was a dedicated mother to her children, a loving sister to her siblings, and a devoted friend to all her nieces, nephews, and friends. Julia was nicknamed by her children as “Kool-Aid”.
Along with her parents, Julia was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Vaught, Carnelius (Lucille) Vaught, and Charles W. Worthan; and one sister, Cora Bessent.
Julia leaves precious memories to her husband, James Johnson; two daughters, Princess Edge of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Alesha Edge of Hopewell, Virginia; one son, Albert Edge, Jr. of Hopewell, Virginia; one sister, Elouise (Nathaniel) Edge; one brother, Jerry (Doris) Vaught, both of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; six precious grandchildren, Omari, Trinity, Gabrielle, Brooklynn, Rain and ZyTear; two special friends, Vickie Stephens and Carrie McCoy.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
