Celebration of Life for Lawrence “LD” Gowans

Lawrence Gowans affectionately known and loved as “LD” was the the son of the late Henry Dot Gowans and the late Irene Stackhouse-Gowans. He was born on April 22, 1942 and departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.

LD was known for building restaurants and homes along the Little River area. Many lives are still blessed from his skilled carpentry profession.

LD leaves to cherish his memories a loving daughter, his caregiver Denise James; three granddaughters, Tarina Lance, Tiffany James and Jennifer James; sixteen great-grands; three great-great-grands; four siblings, Mildred McLaurin, Lenwood Gowans {Sue}, Betty Davis, JoAnn Vereen and Aubrey Gowans; two aunts, Mary Lee Stackhouse and Catherine Stackhouse-Bellamy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There will be a private service held at a later date. Ocean View Funeral Home and Cremation Service Conway Chapel will be assisting the family with this service.
