Larue Sherman was born on November 29, I938 to the late Leo Sherman and the late Mary Green Sherman. He departed this earthly life when he took the Master's hand on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
He graduated from the Horry County Public Schools. Larue was a member of Atlantic Beach First Missionary Baptist Church. He served honorably in the United States Navy from I956 until I962. After his military service, he became self-employed, owning Sherman Construction. Lame was also a professional boxer up North where he earned a reputation of being a champ. The fans gave him the name "Lash".
His sister, Berlene Norman, and brother, Jonathan Sherman preceded him in death.
Larue leaves to cherish his loving memories his two children, Juliette "Debbie" (Randy) Escobar of Katy, Texas and Leron Taylor of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jasmine Gibson of Katy, Texas, Jahaad Fisher of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Josef Campbell of New Jersey, Alexzia Taylor, Khan Taylor, and Charleroi Taylor of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren, seven brothers, Levern (Lois) Sherman, Larry Sherman of Charlotte, North Carolina, Lefogran (Dorothy) Sherman and Lloyd (Lindell) Sherman of Conway, South Carolina, Lewellyn (Patricia) Sherman of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Jeffery (Evelyn) Sherman of Conway, South Carolina, and step-brother, Warren "Freddy" Johnson of Conway, South Carolina and a special friend, Rosa Stanley.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Mercy Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Bucksport Community Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.
