Mother Lavonia Anderson affectionately known as Vonie, Dee & Granny was born to Crawford and Sylvia Loritts on April 29, 1947, in Newark, New Jersey. She stepped into the presence of her savior Saturday, March 18, 2023.
Lavonia attended and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1964. She met and married Lavern Anderson, Sr. And to this union were born with 3 children.
Lavonia moved to Myrtle Beach and joined Mt. Olive AME Church where she was a member of the Voices of Praise Choir and later moved her membership to TrueLight Sounds of Praise where she was a beloved member of the Mother Board, Greeter, and Sunday School Teacher.
Lavonia was a hard worker and retired after 17 years from Horry County where she worked in Special Operations at the Myrtle Beach International Airport.
Lavonia was the epitome of LOVE and was considered a "Universal Granny". She never met a stranger and displayed kindness to any and everyone that she came in contact. While she loved many, her greatest treasure was her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Crawford and Sylvia Loritts and her older sister Sylvian "Elaina" Loritts. Those left to cherish her memories are her brother Dr. Crawford (Karen) Loritts of Woodstock, GA; her children Ursula(Kevin) Grant of Myrtle Beach, SC; T'shura (Cardell) Eason of Myrtle Beach, SC; LaVern "Chick"(Sybil) Anderson of Greer, SC. Her treasured grandchildren Ariel (Antonio), Tanisha, JJ, LaQuan, Trejon, Kardejah, Sadreona, Shaniya, Wesley, Trae, Zander, and Danika. Great Grands-Trenton, Qiana, Ares, and Triston.
Special adopted children- Rob (Angie) Ellison of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Cheryl (Rich) Pack of Atlanta, GA.
Mothers Bonus Grands: Monorice, Chelsea, Sierra, Mackenzie, Will, and Amiyah, and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Greater True Light Ministries SOP. Interment will follow in Ocean Woods Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Friday, March 24, 2023, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel.
