Leo McFadden Obituary

Mr. Leo McFadden, the son of the late Reverend Heyward and Bertha McFadden was born in Scranton, South Carolina on July 29, 1945. He transitions to his heavenly home peacefully on July 19, 2020 at his home in Atlantic Beach, South Carolina. 

He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a graduate of Carver High School, Lake City, SC. He served four years in the United States Navy. He was a Taxicab driver in Boston for twenty-five years and then he moved back to South Carolina and worked in the motel industry, Myrtle Beach, SC for three years. 

Leo was married to Leona Livingston. He was a humorous, witty, intelligent, charming and loving person to those he knew; he was endearing to anyone he met, and he love traveling. He loved to play card games and he thought he was “The Best.” He enjoyed speaking about when he was in the Navy and how he traveled four times around the world. 

Leo leaves cherished memories to his loving wife of twenty years, Leona McFadden; his adopted children, Van Washington, Lavoyna Wilson all of Longs, SC, Don (Marsha) Gause and Lendrell Gause both of Conyers Ga; adopted grandchildren, Marvin, Labrea, Nevaeh, Donaja and Tamir’rah; five grands of Georgia; one grand of Charleston, SC; one brother, Esco (Patricia Mallett) McFadden; two sisters, Ruby (Eddie) Lang of Florence, SC and Betty Epps of Columbia, SC; his niece, Gloria Jean McCarther of Randallstown; his nephew, Jeffery (Regina) Lang of Germany; his brother-in-law, Priniston McCarther of Richmond, Va; one uncle, several aunts; seven sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law; his best friend Mr. & Mrs. Robert Simon, Jr.; a host of other relatives and friends. 

 

 

 

 

Leo McFadden of Atlantic Beach passed July 20, 2020. There will be a private graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2020, at the Florence National Cemetery with Military Honors.
