Leroy Vereen

Leroy Vereen of the Popular Community passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.  

Mr. Leroy Vereen, son of the late Marcellus and Ronnie Vereen, was born on January I2, I946 in Horry County. He peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

He attended the public schools of Horry County and joined Chesterfield Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.

Leroy was preceded in death by his brothers, James Vereen, Levon Vereen, Kelly Vereen, and Curvey Vereen; his sisters, Esther Chestnut and Shelly Brooks; and a grandson, James Lamont Lane.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, James Lane, Patricia Vereen, and Rowena Vereen, all of Longs, South Carolina, Roy Vereen of Rock Hill, South Carolina; his sisters, Mrs. Margaret Timmons of New York, New York, and Ms. Dolly Gore of Longs, South Carolina; his brother, Mr. Levance (Sandra) Vereen of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; two sisters-in-law, Naomi Vereen or Conway, South Carolina and Jennie Vereen of Longs, South Carolina; I0 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

There will be a visitation from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, 2023 at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.
