Lide Grayson, Jr.

Lide Grayson, Jr (aka Beljames) was born November 3, 1952 from the late Lloyd and Earline Grayson and departed his journey of life Saturday, June 6, 2020 in Summerville, South Carolina.

Lide was educated through the Paterson School System of Passaic County and employed in multiple vocations throughout his lifetime. He had a great relationship with everyone, and was loved by his parents, siblings, children, relatives and friends.

He became the father of daughter, Tamika Askew Rawl and Maurice (Son-In-Law), (Step-Daughter) Walleta Askew, and sons Spyvee Grayson and Antone Johnson, then later Grandfather of Walik Askew, Re’Yonna Smith and Jah-Niya Bell; Great Grandfather to Amir and Audrey Askew.

Midway of life, Lide met his Beloved Viceina Risher and she became his Devoted and Loving Companion For Life for over 30 years. His family grew through this loving bond, he became the Step Dad to Jerome Risher and Christina (Risher) Dawson. Later in years, a union was then formed between Sean (Son-in-law) and Christina Dawson, and Lide became the Grandfather to Aiden and Talhia Dawson.

He later in life decided to leave the northern region of Paterson, New Jersey with his Beloved Viceina and children and relocated to the southern region of the east coast to Ruffin, South Carolina on October 16, 2015 and resided there until the end of his life’s journey.

 Lide Grayson, Jr. life is preceded in death by (Mom & Dad) Lloyd and Earline Grayson, and (Sister) Irene Grayson and (Brother) Timothy Lee Grayson. He leaves to cherish fond memories his (Beloved Companion For Life) Viceina Risher; Daughter: Tamika Askew; Step-Daughters: Waletta Askew, Christina and Sean Dawson (Son-in-law); Sons: Spyvee Grayson and Antone Johnson; Step son Jerome Risher, Grand and Great-Grandchildren: Walik, Amir, and Audrey Askew, Aiden and Talhia Dawson; Seven Sisters: Dorothy Livingston, Lou Ella, Catherine, Linda, Joan Grayson, Priscilla Grayson Taylor (Husband) George, and Brenda Grayson Coppage (Husband) Jamie; Two Brothers: Jack and Stevie Grayson (Wife) Penny; Four Sisters-in-law Tammy Grayson, Pat Risher, Vicky Linder, and Mary Ann White; One Brother-in-law Willie Risher, and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends

Lide Grayson of Conway passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020.  A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday at St. John Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Galivants Ferry.  Ocean View Funeral Home, Conway Chapel is assisting the Grayson Family.
