Lorene Lillian Gibson Frasier, age 90, peacefully departed this earthly life on March 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, love, compassion, and devotion to God that will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Lorene was born on October 1, 1935, in Longs, South Carolina, to the late Mary Lee Riggins and Rommie Riggins. She was a member of Freemont Baptist Church. She was educated in the Horry County School System and was raised with strong Christian values rooted in faith, family, and hard work. Growing up, she worked alongside her family on the farm, where she developed the strength, humility, and caring spirit that would guide her throughout her life.
Later in life, she migrated to New Haven, CT, where she spent the rest of her days.
Lorene found joy in life’s simple blessings. She enjoyed fishing, watching Jeopardy!, following her favorite soap operas, and listening to traditional church music that uplifted her soul. She was well-known for her culinary skills, particularly as an excellent cook who specialized in soul food, lovingly preparing meals that brought family and friends together around her table. Her home was a place of warmth, fellowship, and love.
Above all, Lorene was a God-fearing woman who placed God first in every aspect of her life. Her faith was her foundation, and she lived as an example of kindness, patience, and compassion. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, and care for those in need. Her gentle spirit and nurturing heart touched many lives.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the late Doward Frasier; her children, Daniel Gibson, and Christine Gibson; her granddaughters, Danielle Joyner, Tiffaney Hall, and Mary Gibson; and her older sisters, Florine (Lacy) Wilson, and Sadie Bell (Daniel) Patrick.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving children: Reginald (Ethel) Gibson, Tracy (Tony) Martin, Stephanie Gibson, and Robin Gibson; two special grandchildren, Jeffery (Jocetta) Gibson and Alicia (Vernis) Gibson; her sisters, Geraldine (Frank) Taylor and Lois McCray; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family whom she loved dearly.
