Lou Mae Bellamy of Longs passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, henceforth there laid up for me a crown of righteousness." II Timothy 4:7-8
Lou Mae Randall Bellamy, daughter of the late Alva Randall and Ozie Bell Chestnut Randall, was born on January 9, I949 in Horry County, South Carolina, She was an I967 graduate of Chestnut Consolidated High School. She was united in Holy Wedlock to the love of her life, James Edward Bellamy on July I, I968 and they remained as one for over 52 years before he went home to be with the Lord.
She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined Mt. Zion AIVIE Church where she remained a faithful member until her health declined. She served in various capacities in the church which included serving on the Trustee Board, Health Ministry, Hospitality Committee, Inspirational Gospel Choir member, Stewardess Board, and member of the Women's Ministry Society.
Lou Mae was very loving and compassionate, as she spent her life serving and nurturing others. She worked many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Sandstrom Nursing Home and Kingston Nursing Center. After raising her children, she decided to pursue her dream to become a nurse. She attended the Aynor Conway School of Practical Nursing and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She remained employed with Horry Medical Associates of Conway, as an office nurse, touching the lives of many patients until her retirement.
Lou Mae was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, which progressively worsened over the past five years. God saw her getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around her and whispered, "Lou Mae come with me." She peacefully slipped into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
Her husband, father, and in-laws preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving mother, one daughter, Melody (Lamont) Bellamy; one son, James Myron Bellamy; and one grandson raised in the home as her own, Jaquan Bellamy; two sisters, Celestine (Lenwood) Crawford and Dottie (Raford) Cox; three brothers, Alfred (Costella) Randall, James (Minnie) Randall, and Weldon Randall all of Little River, SC; four sisters-in-law, Ruby (Joseph) Tann of Patterson, NJ, Artrail, Wendy, and Lee Gail Bellamy of Little River, SC; three aunts, Mary Green of Little River, SC, Blossie Randall of Mt. Vernon, NY, and Sarah Barnes of Trenton, NJ; one uncle, Robert Randall of Coca, FL; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Mt. Zion AME Church in Little River. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a viewing from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Tuesday at the church. Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel is assisting the Bellamy Family.
