Malene Gore Obituary

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:" II Timothy 4: 7

Mother Malene Green Gore was born on September 30, I942 in Horry County. She was the third daughter of the late Mr. Raymond and the late Mrs. Leona Weaver Green. She made her transition to be with the Lord on Friday, July 26, 2024, around I2:30 p.m. from the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Malene attended public schools in Horry County. She met and married her husband, James Lee Gore at an early age. To this union, no children were born. She and her husband raised so many of their nieces and nephews as their own. The last child they raised was William Michael Gore, from a baby to graduation. She loved children no matter whom they belonged. Malene accepted the Lord at an early age and joined St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Cool Spring, South Carolina. When her husband became a member of Saint John Free Will Baptist Church, she moved her membership to Saint John. She has served with many auxiliaries in multiple capacities, Vice-President of Usher Board, Youth Usher Trainer, Senior Choir Member, Missionary President, and Chair of the Mother's Board. She would volunteer to help with Vacation Bible School, the kitchen committee, ironing on logos, or just helping put up the decorations. She also helped with the Sunday School packing and delivering Christmas boxes in the community. Malene worked several jobs from fanning and raising livestock with her husband, a seamstress at Aynor Manufacturing Co. Inc and Four Seasons T-Shirt Factory, and a cook and waitress at Gore's BBQ. After retiring from work, she helped many families in the community take care of their sick family members and assisted in alterations for many in the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mr. James Lee Gore, four brothers, Dennis Green, Nelson Green, Joseph Green, and Uffettee Green; two sisters, Ella Green Lockhart and Louise Green Stephenson; three nephews who were raised in the home, Mr. Levi Crawford, Mr. Ronnie Crawford and Mr. Douglas Gerald.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Green Wilson of Jersey City, New Jersey and Mrs. Orgrettan "Audrey" Chestnut of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one brother, Mr. Lounzy (Roxana) Green of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lena Mae Gore of Aynor, South Carolina, Mrs. Lula Gore of New York, Mrs. Alice Gore of Mullins, South Carolina, Mrs. Louise Green of Little River, South Carolina and Mrs. Roxana Green of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Mr. Alfonso Belnavis of New York; along with a host of nieces, nephews and sorrowing relatives and friends. Special friends and nieces who stayed with her and helped during her time of sickness, Mother Rosazel V. Spain, Sister Phyllis Vereen, Sister Rudene Gore, niece Ann Cochran Allen, and niece Venae Wilson.
