Marguerite L. Tucker was born on April 19, 1944, in High Point, North Carolina, to the late Aaron Odell Brown and Carrie Goins Brown, and raised in Newark, New Jersey. She passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in Conway, South Carolina.
Marguerite attended Central High School in Newark, New Jersey, and received her diploma after completing night school. She was briefly married to Councilman Donald Kofi Tucker in 1962, and to this union, one child was born.
Marguerite spent the majority of her years in Newark, New Jersey, building an uplifting reputation amongst the community. Between her involvement in security work for the Lincoln Park Towers and her President position for the buildings association, Marguerite was hands-on and well involved.
She was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, Kingdom Hall of Conway, South Carolina. As an avid computer enthusiast, she spent countless years running a clothing/print business, “Marguerite L. Tucker Diamonds, Inc.” If not involved in her church ventures, she was a proud mother, grandmother, and devoted great-grandmother to all her great-grandchildren.
Marguerite would always be seen with a warm smile to welcome you and a joke waiting for you. She never met a stranger.
A legacy of love will be cherished by her daughter, Donna Tucker Wynn; her grandson, Michael Aaron Gammage, Sr.; her two granddaughters, JaDawnn Tierra Wynn and Barbara Gammage; her great-grandchildren, Kingston Wynn, Michael Aaron Gammage, Jr., Dru Huggins, Shilo Huggins, and Erin Gammage; a host of family, friends and loved ones.
