Mary Mishoe Gause

Ms. Mary “Alice” Mishoe Gause the daughter of the late Woodrow “Woody” Phillips and Mable Mishoe Holloway was born on January 5, 1949 in Bucksport, SC. “Alice” (as she was affectionately called) entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 27, 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia after a brief battle with cancer. Mary Alice was a member of Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church, Bucksport, SC. She attended Horry County Public Schools, graduating from Whittemore High School in 1969 and later going on to Horry Georgetown Technical College. After working in the healthcare industry for many years, Mary retired from Conway Medical Center in September of 2012. Mary was a die-hard football fan and a devoted and loving Grandmother.

Mary is predeceased by one son, Kareem Gause; four brothers: Henry L. Mishoe; Edward L. Mishoe; James Mishoe, and Norman Mishoe; four sisters, Agnes Gause; Margaret Sumpter; Retha Terry; Pearl Patterson. She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Narissia (Keith) Skinner; two grandsons Montel Gause of Killeen, Texas and PVT Keishon Skinner, of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, five sisters: Lula Nelson; Mildred McCray; Helen (Dock) Hunt, of Bucksport; Jessie (Lonzell) Graham of Greenville; Betty (Arthur) Jones of Maryland; two sister-in-laws: Gwendolyn “Sally” Mishoe of Bucksport; Reiko Mishoe of New York; a special friend Tony Hicks; a host of sorrowing relatives, and loyal friends that include several former co-workers.

A Private Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Owens Cemetery off of Mishoe Road in the Bucksport Community.  Ocean View Funeral Home, Conway Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
