Mary L. Sarvis of New York, formerly of Conway passed away on October 6, 2024.

Mrs. Mary Louise Hunt Sarvis was born July 5, I937 in Conway, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Freeman and Lillie Hunt. Mary gained her wings and took the Master's hand on Sunday, October 6, 2024, and entered eternal rest.
Mary grew up in Conway, South Carolina and attended the Horry County Public Schools. She moved to Brooklyn, New York in I968 and later returned to her home in Conway, South Carolina. After residing in Conway, South Carolina for several years, she relocated to New York to be closer to her children.
Mary accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a faithful member of Greater St. James AME Church. She was also a member of the Gospel Choir.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; Marion Hunt, Freeman Hunt, Jimmy Hunt, Freedom Green, Eugene Ford, and George Lance.
Mary was loving, caring, and motherly to everyone she met, to know "Mrs. Mary" as she was affectionately known by all, you was sure to have a lifelong loving friend. Mary was that person that would make you laugh and of course, let's not leave out her passion for fashion and always so dapper in the way she dressed.
Mary married the love of her life in I968 to the late Thomas Sarvis and was blessed with three amazing, caring, and loving sons. She was a proud and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mary's memory will be cherished by her three sons, Thomas Lee (Yvette) Sarvis of New Jersey, Wilbert Lee (Shelby) Sarvis and Anthony (Laquana) Sarvis, both of New York; nine grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory is her loving and caring sister, Laura (Franklin) Tucker; three sisters-in-law, Lou Bell Ford, Alice Lance, and Annie Hunt; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Great St. James AME Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.
