Mary Whittington

Mary Whittington, "Tuttle Fruiti", as she was fondly called by many, was born on December 24, 1955 to the late Mr. Willie Dennison and the late Ms. Virginia Whittington in Conway, SC.

Mary attended Horry County schools and later moved to New York for a short period of time. Upon returning to Horry County, she worked at Coastal Carolina University and various hotels along the Grand Strand, the latest one being Sand Castle Resort where she was the Laundry Room Supervisor.

Mary was a dedicated Mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment she had with them. She especially loved being a Grandmother.

Mary never met a stranger. Her vivacious personality and bluntness stood out more than anything. If she said it, she meant it.

To know her was to love her and she was loved by many.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory, Troy (Ericka) Whittington of Conway, SC. James (Elaina) Whittington of Conway, SC. Jamaar DeWitt of Conway, SC. Her one and only Baby Girl, Corrine Jackson of Clarksville, Tennessee. Her Sister Pamela Jean Nero of Alexandria, Virginia.

A very special friend, Charles Spain.

She also leaves to cherish her memory, Sixteen Grandchildren, Six Great Grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Mary Whittington of Conway passed on January 3, 2020. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel.  Ocean View Funeral Home, Conway Chapel is assisting the Whittington Family.
