Michael Brown Obituary

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew II: 28-30

On the morning of January I3, 2025, Michael quietly departed this life to go home to be with the Lord.

Michael Isaac Brown was born to the late Mr. Phillip Isaac Brown and Mrs. Sarah C. Brown of Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was the youngest sibling of one brother and two sisters.

Michael attended Carver Elementary School and went on to graduate from Myrtle Beach High School in I976. He always had a passion for music and he and his friends formed a local band, "New Creations" that became very popular. Michael was the lead guitar player and a vocalist. His love for music was a source of joy for him as was his passion for his team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Michael was well known in the community. He loved people and they loved him in return. He was witty with a great sense of humor. He was a fun-spirited soul. He had so many dear friends from his beloved community. People would often stop by the house to visit him or just stop and talk to him when they saw him outside in the neighborhood. He always had something funny to say! Though he endured some trials in his life, he had a heart of gold. His caring nature paired with his outgoing nature and lively spirit was a unique combination. Michael will truly be missed. He had his own personal relationship with the Lord, and we thank God for blessing us with his presence in our lives.

One sister-in-law, Judy Clark, preceded him in death

He leaves to celebrate his life his brother, Jerome C. Clark; special niece, Jewel Wilson; special niece, Paula Robinson of New York, special great nieces, Journee Wilson and J' Chanel Goings of Myrtle Beach, SC; his nephews, Corey (Karen) Grissett of Greensboro, NC and Kevin Grissett of Myrtle Beach, SC; his sister, Martha C. (Jesse) Patterson and their children, Stuart and Gregory Patterson of Temecula, CA, and sister: Diana Brown Montgomery of Lawrenceville, GA; special niece, Tori M. (Maurice) Johnson, whom Michael shared her childhood, youth and adult life with; special nieces, Milan, Peryn, and Micah Johnson of Charlotte, NC; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, beloved family members and friends including Larry Bellamy, Sr., Nick Green and Otis Ellis. Michael's presence is already missed and though he is gone, he will live in our hearts forever.
