Minnie Pearl Owens was born on December 22, 1952 in Horry County, South Carolina to the late Pervis and Evlyne Bethea. Minnie "Duck" slipped into eternal rest in the early morning of Monday, November 10, 2025.
Minnie attended Horry County Public Schools as a child. Minnie was a loving grandmother and great grandmother, who was affectionately called "Grandma" or "Minnie Pearl". She was a loyal and faithful friend. Those that knew her would say that she always greeted you with a smile. She was known for her kind heart and warming words.
Minnie was proceeded in death by her parents, all of her siblings except one, and two of her children, Latonya Grissett, and Joseph Grissett.
Minnie leaves to cherish her loving husband Benjamin Owens of Horry County, SC with whom she shared 47 years of marriage; one son, John (Aisha) Grissett, and one daughter, Alice Owens both of Conway, SC; a sister, Mary Alice Bethea Davis; sisters-in-law, Sarah Margaret Spain of Conway, SC, Flora (Dennis) Chestnut of Myrtle Beach, SC, Marie Eaddy and Jannie Lynn Owens of Bucksport, SC, Minnie Bell Anderson, Fannie Owens, and a brother-in-law, John Henry Owens all of New York; eight grandchildren, Jokira Grissett, Jokhadijah Grissett, Sherytijah Grissett, Jasean Owens, Jamir Richardson, Michael Bellamy and Destanie Wilson, all of Conway, SC, and Jote'Ail (Tateannia) Grissett of Beaufort, SC; six great grandchildren, Jaylah Grissett, Jenesis Grissett, Kamren Gore, Cairo Pino, Lamar Vereen, and Zarryen Grissett all of whom she loved dearly; along with a host of nieces, nephews other family and friends that she loved and cherished.
