Moria Dearmond Obituary

In loving memory of Moria “Mo’Betta Mo’ria” Jayne DeArmond (Brown) of Conway, SC. Beloved wife, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and niece. Born on July 11th, 1975, Moria passed away at the age of 50, on December 19, 2025. She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia “Mourning Dove” Auldridge Lamb, her father, Harold J. Reed, and her youngest sister, Grace Noel Levy. She is survived by her husband, Brian Shaun DeArmond, her sister Gillian Ivy Clinton, Brother-in-law Kevin Clinton, nephews Chase Clinton and Sebastian Clinton. She is also survived by her long lost and finally found younger sister, Jessica Brown and Moria’s nephews Noah and Henry, whom sadly never got the opportunity to have met her in person. Her Aunts, Sue Gardner and Joan Warren, and Uncle Maurice Brown, her cousins Deni Huttula, Chelsea Plant, Nathan Simpson, Casey Simpson, Jessica Becker, Christopher Brown, and Samuel Brown and all her extended family, all love her and mourn Moria’s passing.

To her friends, Moria was nicknamed the “Grapeslayer” due to her oft purple dyed hair leaving stains on her neck and scalp in drips of purple. As well as her love of all things macabre. She was adorned with many skulls tattooed by her favorite tattoo artist and friend, Michael “Fish” Fisher. Moria was known for her delightfully crass humor, which she never shied away from speaking her mind and loudly. Whether quoting Beavis and Butthead or making nonsensical ryhmes, she approached life with laughter. Her friends, they were her chosen family and the bonds that held them together were many and strong.

She loved fiercely and genuinely. Nothing Moria felt was small. She had so many struggles in her life, but she created strong and lasting friendships. Too many to name, but most notably, her lifelong friend, Steve Hernandez who supported her through ups and downs. From the people whom had known her since she was a teenager to those who had only met her briefly, she had made a significant impression with her boisterous personality. She was a staple in the goth, punk, and freak scene around DC, but made friends quickly, wherever she had gone. Moria was so intense, she let you know how much she loved you. And she loved her 4 cats, they were her sweet babies. She was most proud of her young nephews. And she was so happy when she connected with Jessica. She never got to meet their father, but was overjoyed to have a whole new family to love.

Moria wasn’t ready to go, she had so much more love to give and obnoxious jokes to share. Mo’Betta Mo’ria for a reason. You are so loved, Seestor! Never forgotten.
