Nina Gore Obituary

Nina Gore, a devoted wife, mother, and friend, was called home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born on July 8, 1945, in Prentiss, Mississippi, to the late Napoleon and Inez Hawthorne.

Nina received her early education in Prentiss, Mississippi. Following her graduation, she embarked on a new chapter in New York. It was there that she formed a significant friendship with Geraldine Davis, who would later introduce her to the love of her life, Clifford Gore.

In 1967, Nina and Clifford were united in marriage and made their home in Clifford's hometown of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Nina dedicated 30 years of service to GTE, beginning in Operator Services and progressing to a Training Instructor before retiring as a Service Representative.

Their family blossomed with the arrival of two beloved daughters, Audrey DeQwanda Gore and Kamani Nicole Gore. Nina embraced her roles as a wife and mother with unwavering dedication and love. She was also known for her loyalty and warmth as a friend to many. Among her favorite pastimes, Nina found joy in nurturing life through gardening, tending to her vibrant collection of vegetables, plants, and flowers.

Her faith was an integral part of her life. As a faithful member of Kingdom Hall, she readily offered her assistance and served the Lord with devotion until her passing.

Nina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clifford Gore; her cherished daughter, Kamani Nicole Gore; her special sister, Gwendolyn S. Jones; and her siblings, Cleveland Hawthorne, Grover Hawthorne, Jones Hawthorne, Rosie Nell Madison, Ardessie Lillie Burton, Napoleon Hawthorne, Jr., Johnny Hawthorne, and Jerry Hawthorne.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in her daughter, Audrey (Michael) Bland; her grandson, Jadlyn Bland; her brother, Lewis (Comal) Hawthorne; her nephew, Patrick Davis; her special sister, Bonnie Simmons; her special children, April Chestnut and Noah Vaughan; the Gore sisters and brothers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
