Ora Lee Dunlap

Ora Lee Dunlap of Conway passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024. 

Ora was a quiet force, that spoke with wisdom and direct honesty, with a memory of her elders and community that stretched far and wide. To know her was to love her. She never met a stranger and left an unforgettable impression on those she encountered.

Ora was a devoted mother to Kenneth Dunlap (Genola) of Charlotte, NC; Lisa Dye (Carlton) of Rock Hill, SC; Craig Dunlap of Conway, SC; Corey Dunlap of Conway, SC; and Bernice Spain
(Isaac) of Hopkins, SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hozzie Lee and Ameila Ladson Dunlap, and siblings; Helen Sessions Franklin, Maggie Hamilton, Steve Dunlap, Tressie Dunlap, and Patricia Ann Hutto.

Ora is survived by her children, 10 grandchildren: Kenny, Kristen, Rufus, Alexis, Aryanna, William, Brittney, Isaiah, Amelia, Olivia, and one great-grandson, Nicholas Johnson who was the apple of her eye.

Siblings: Loretta Dunlap of the home, Shirley Blount of Goose Creek, SC; Melvina Spain of Columbia, SC; Amelia Wiley (Charles) of Virginia; Corine Bellamy (Charles) of W. Columbia, SC; Ronald Dunlap (Barbara) of Columbia, SC; sister-in-laws Johnnie Mae Dunlap, Vera Green Dunlap, brother-in-law Eric Hill, two adopted sisters, Ann Washington, Lucy Washington Coleman, host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.
