Patricia Ann Bowie of Myrtle Beach passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025.

Patricia Ann Bowie, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on March 17, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.  She was 90 years old.

Born July 24, 1934, in Bar Harbor, Maine, to James E. and Lucy Hamor, Pat’s childhood saw the family relocate to Maryland.  There, she met and married Edward Lee Haley Sr., with whom she had her son, James Franklin Haley. Several years later Pat and Thomas Edmund Bowie found each and entered a loving relationship which led to a to a marriage filled with joy and lasting seventeen years until her death.

Pat was a woman of remarkable strength and resilience, bravely overcoming breast cancer, a broken neck, and numerous other significant life challenges.  Her unwavering spirit earned her the loving moniker of "Super Woman" from her son.  Those who knew Pat remember her as a loving, caring, and exceptionally generous person.  She embraced her family—both by birth and marriage—with boundless love, often surprising them with thoughtful little gifts sent through the mail or presented during visits, a testament to her constant consideration for others.

Pat is survived by her devoted husband of 17 years, Thomas Edmund Bowie; her sister Marie Corley.  She is also survived by her son James F. Haley (Barbara) and her step-children, Doris Anderson (Buddy), Alice Haley, Michael Haley (Janelle), Mazie Haley; along with numerous grandchildren—Tiffany, Theresa, Matthew, Kyle, Melinda, Toby, Michelle, Michele, Lisa, Angel, Lynsey, John, Candace, Randy, Anthony, Tony, Dawn, James, Nikki, Eddie, Wayne, Robert, Cassie Kay, David, Jesse, as well as many cherished great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces;  Thomas Bowie’s children Thomas D. Bowie, his wife Sherri, children Tyler and Sean; Michael Bowie and his wife Becky; their children Tracy and Carla.

A memorial service celebrating Pat's life will be held at a later date in Maryland.  Details will be announced prior.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Pat's name to Ardent Hospice & Palliative Care of SC, 910 Mount Gilead Road, Murrell’s Inlet, SC 29576, who provided exceptional care during her life.
