Paul Boyce Karriker went peacefully to be with our G-d on Thursday, 4/10/2025, around noontime.
Paul was born to Edith Hodge Karriker and Boyce Wilson Karriker in Hollywood, California on September 25, 1945. He resided in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Recently, he went to live near his daughter in South Carolina. He is survived by his only child, a daughter, Laura Karriker Tolbert, husband, Mike, North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and three sisters from his father’s second marriage to Laverne Karriker. His sisters are Ann & Elbert Johnson of Pensacola, FL, Sharon & John Williams of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Pat and Dale Chavers, of Niceville, FL.
Paul was a Master Printer and Typesetter for years. He was Head Printer for Marie’s Print Shop. He was also the Manager for US Envelope. Through the years, he worked for Man Bus and Truck Company, creating corrugated buses. In his early years, Paul sold encyclopedias and magazines door to door before taking a job at Cannon Mills. He helped to build the Phillip Morris Cigarette Manufacturing Company in Concord, NC. After it was built, Paul began a career as a trained KDF machine operator for 20+ years until his retirement. He was lovingly known by many as the “candy man.”
Paul’s favorite pastime was his hobby of Remote Control planes and drones. He dearly loved RC planes and drones! He loved cheering for his Tar Heels, where his daughter graduated from college. He loved his schnauzers, especially Abbycadabby! He was a certified drone pilot and loved flying with the Yardbirds Club. Every year he would journey to the Joe Nall Fly-In at the Triple Tree Aerodrome in Woodruff, South Carolina.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. He is loved and will be missed by many.
