Rangier Johnson of Myrtle Beach passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024.
Rangier Hemingway-Johnson, “Whimpy” as she was affectionately known was born on May 05, 1973, to Constance Hemingway and Robert Cox in Georgetown SC.
She was educated in St. Petersburg, Florida where she graduated from Gibbs High School in 1991. She was a cheerleader, member of the yearbook staff, and black culture club member. Upon graduating high school she briefly attended LSU in Louisiana. She obtained her license in cosmetology and enjoyed years of doing hair. Rangier never met a stranger and was loved by many.
Rangier was preceded in death by both of her parents Constance Hemingway-Jones, (Eddie) and Robert Cox; her husband Carl White; her brother, Xavier Cox; her grandparents, Sarah Hemingway-Caldwell, Henry “Porkchop” Hemingway, Albert Caldwell, Ollie Cox Sr. and Edith Cox.
Those left to cherish her memories are three sons, Raashad Livingston of St Petersburg, FL., Donte Livingston, and Jayce Hemingway both of Myrtle Beach SC; two daughters, Carrie Hartley and Shadhia “Honey” Robinson both of St. Petersburg FL; two brothers, Ronald Hemingway of St. Petersburg, Fl, and Eddie “Mario” Jones of Myrtle Beach, SC; four sisters, Lashawndra Cox, Demetria Cox-Hilliard (Dwight),
Gabrielle Pugh all of Georgetown, SC, and Michelle “Sweet Pea” Price (Tim) of St. Petersburg, FL; one step-grandmother, Carolyn Hemingway of Myrtle Beach, SC; two grandchildren, Noelani Hemingway and Faith McCray; she also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins to mourn her passing including a few special cousins, Laquanda Chestnut-Wilson, Antwan Samuels, and Nicole Flowers; three special friends, Charmin Doctor, Marion Simmons and Camille Major.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel. There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel.
