Rickie Sherman Obituary

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me so that you also may be where I am." John 14: 3

Rickie Sherman, Sr., a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, peacefully ascended to heaven on August 28, 2024. He was a man defined by his honor, love, and unwavering perseverance.

After his military service, Rickie worked at AVX Corporation for over 14 years, where he met and married his beloved wife Bertha. Together they established a child development center that has been a beacon of support for the community for 32 years.

Rickie dedicated his life to God from an early age. He was baptized at Mt. Mariah Baptist Church and later transferred his membership to Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he continued to nurture his faith.

Rickie's parents, Henry B. and Leona C. Shen Ian, and a host of aunts and uncles preceded him in death.

He Leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion remembered fondly by his wife, Bertha Sherman; his eldest daughter, Solvia T. Shennan of Charleston, SC; three sons, Jonathan Sheridan of Kentucky, Rickie Shennan, Jr. of California, and Christian (Kali) Shennan of Texas; three granddaughters, Mahoganie Campbell, Miyana Steele and Myia Steele of Charleston; twin great-granddaughters, Eriel and Camilla Campbell; four sisters, Janetta Sherman and Henrietta (Lee) Greene of Conway, SC, Sandra (Gary) McCray and Sheila Sheridan of Bucksport, SC. He is also survived by three very special brother-friends, Curtis Pino (Red), Gary Gause, and O'Neil Sheridan.
