Rosina Myers Obituary

Mrs. Rosina Ganice Moore-Myers was born on July 29, I958, in Newark New Jersey. She was one of the beloved daughters of the late Roosevelt Moore and Bernice Moore. Rosina attended Peshine Elementary and then on to Weequahic High School in Newark New Jersey, where she was an avid singer in the glee club. After high school, Rosina met the love of her life Morris Myers of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Together they raised their children Michael Moore, Bridgette Moore DeJesus, Morris Moore, James Moore, and the late Galecka. Rosina loved the Lord with all her heart including her family, friends, and neighbors as herself. She was always thoughtful of others; she often went without by making sure someone else had. One of her many sayings were, "If I have it, then you have it." After beginning her journey of following Christ, Rosina did everything she could to live according to The Living Word of God, which included raising her children in fear of the Lord and honoring her marriage vows to her husband. She was always willing and happy to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone and anyone. Two words that come to mind when I think of how she fought the good fight of faith would be "Prayer" and "Warrior".

Rosina also loved to sing in the choir when she attended Faith Assembly of Disciples in her former years until she moved to Kansas to be a case manager for special needs patients, then moved to Des Moines, Iowa, and entered the education system as a substitute teacher. As time went by they decided to move back to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina because her husband was getting homesick for family and friends.

Rosina loved cooking, baking, and eating soul food. On the weekends she loved to indulge in Bojangles fried chicken dinner with her loving husband to end a long eventful day. They also enjoyed family and friends coming over to visit especially during the holidays. On Sunday morning, January 26, 2025, the Lord called Rosina Genice Myers home to rest; a devoted and beloved child of God who was also a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was deeply loved and will forever be in our hearts and memories.

One child, Galecka Moore; one sister, Naomi Moore; and four sisters-in-law, Maude, Rebecca, Helen, and Bernice all preceded her in death. Rosina Ganice Myers is survived by her husband Morris Myers, and four children Michael R. (Sadie) Moore, Bridgette T. (Juan) DeJesus, Morris (MaShawnda) Moore, and James M. (Calandra) Moore; her grandchildren, Kweli-Makhari, Makhalah, Isaiah, Johnathan, Xavian, Xariyah, Xylon, Janice, Julien, Sanaja, Jayden, Petreca, Pete, De'Mon, and Summer; her three sisters, Orvetta Moore, Catherine Moore, and Clarice Peterson; I3 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
