Sarah Livingston

Sarah Livingston of the Popular Community passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024. 

Ms. Sarah Livingston was the eleventh child of the late Hamp Livingston and Laura Hemingway Livingston. She was born in Horry County, South Carolina on October 8, I948.

Sarah accepted her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Popular AME Church where she was a faithful servant until her health failed. She was the Church Secretary, Treasurer, and the YPD Choir Director, and was a member of the Royal Court of King Soloman, and Moonlight Chapter I68. She was also a volunteer at Popular Park for over 30 years. Sarah was blessed with one child, Hampton K. Livingston.

Sarah completed her high school education at Chestnut High School in I969. She worked at Loris Manufacturer for 20 years and also worked for Mr. & Mrs. Duncan for I0 years and Mr. & Mrs. Levingston for over 30 years. Sarah also worked for Waccamaw EOC for IS years.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Dallas Livingston (Lorene), Leon Livingston (Retha) William James "W.J." Livingston, Hamp Livingston, Dorothy Vereen (Frank), Betty Willard (Pink), and Madgie Bell.

Sarah leaves to cherish her memories her son, Hampton Kent Livingston; three grandsons, Kenneth McCray, Willie Edge and Craig Green; her siblings, Paul (Susie) Livingston, Louis Livingston, Johnny Livingston, and Janie Gore; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Livingston; her brother-in-law, Thomas Bell; her special friend, Don Stanley of North Carolina; other special friends, Ulysses Dewitt of South Carolina, Elizabeth Bowens of South Carolina and Wilma Johnson of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Tommy Bell, Renee Johnson, Tanya Bryant, and Khalil  Gore; special niece, Ursula Woods; nephew, Casey Gore and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Popular AME Church.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.  There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, North Strand Chapel.
