Shauntae Melvina Burney, 34, of Murrells Inlet, sc, passed away on July 15, 2024, after suffering from Renal Failure and Kidney Failure.
Shauntae was born on December 23, 1989, to Howard James Mosby & Patrice Renee Burney in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She resided in Murrells Inlet, SC with her maternal grandmother, Melvina Burney, from birth till her passing in 2008. Growing up on McDowell Shortcut Road, Shauntae forged close friendships with Quiera Gibbs, Miles Davis, and Whitney Davis—neighbors who were more like brothers & sisters. She was adored by all of the kids and she loved them back. Shauntae cherished her family time and church attendance. Shauntae made a church home at First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Shauntae loved her family dearly but had a special place in her heart for the elderly. She left heg-qark on the community from Murrells Inlet to Socastee to Burgess to Myrite Beach to Georgetown, always with a golden heart and a nurturing spirit.
Our emotions were all affected when Shauntae fell ill. We like to refer to Shauntae as OUR "Diamond in the Rough" because she always had a smile on her face, and a lively demeanor, and she battled until the point where she was unable to fight anymore. Her dimples were the deepest and her eyes the most beautiful.
Shauntae was preceded in death by her Grandmother Melvina Burney, Father Howard James Mosby & Brother Dontae Raymond Thompson. She is survived by her siblings DeAndre Clay, Shaunisha Thompson, Darnisha Burney, Sharnae Burney, Randy Roach,
Devante Roach, Brandi Roach, Sharnika Clark Sergio Mitchell & a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Shauntae could not have let this day go by without saying THANK YOU to Blondell Williams Sadie Parmley, Dr Ruby Rodgers, Glenda Myers & Henry Tillman. Please rest assure knowing that without you all, Shauntae could not have progressed as far as she did. Shauntae has left a message for everyone: I Love You! I'm OK
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at The Brook UMC Church in Burgess. There will be a viewing from one hour prior to the service at the church.
