During this season of Christmas, we give GOD thanks for the life of Terrance Wiggins, affectionately known as "Terr."
Terr was born on June 9,1962 at Sydenham Hospital located in Harlem, New York to his proud parents, Shirley and the late John Wiggins.
Terrance was always considered the charmer and comic of the family. He was, in our opinion, the first person to tell "dad jokes". Even when he was in Iraq during Desert Storm, he found a way to tell a joke in order to alleviate his family's concerns.
Terr graduated from Evander Childs High School of Bronx, New York in 1980. Terr realized that he wasn't college material and decided to join the United States Army in 1980. His basic training was at Fort Gordon in Georgia and then he was off to Germany where he would tour Europe.
Terr was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Lisa Merle Clarke Wiggins on January 23,1982. They were married for thirty-nine years. Lisa passed away on September 1, 2021.
Terr was a very proud veteran. He was recognized for his valor when he fought in Desert Storm and earned several medals, including the Bronze star. Terr dutifully served his country for twenty years before retiring in 2000. After retiring from the military, he began working for Myrtle Beach Resort, rising to the position of supervisor. He loved his position and was dedicated to this company. More importantly, however, he made so many friends there and would do anything to help them.
Terr was a big teddy bear full of humbleness willing to help anyone he can. He especially loved to fight playfully with the kids. Terr was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents( James and Ida Wiggins), maternal grandparents( Dan and Mary Myers), brother Tyrone Wiggins, and mother-in-law Sonja Clarke. He leaves to cherish his memories of a life well lived: His mother, Shirley Wiggins, beloved children Barry, Kenneth, Terrance (Nicole), Alexandra and Teonna; sisters; Tina Wiggins Ramsey
(Davey) and Tameca Drakeford; grandsons; Jashawn, Jahmere,
Christopher, Connor, Caleb, Jaylen and Javon; granddaughters Taliyah and Zaria; nieces; Taylor Thomas, Te'yanna Brown and Tylar Graham nephews; Kaleel Wiggins and Antonio Brown and a hosts of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Terrance Wiggins of Myrtle Beach passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021. There will be a funeral service held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2021, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel. A viewing will be one hour prior to the service and burial will follow directly after the service at Florence National Cemetery.
