It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Harold Pifer, who left us on July 23, 2024, at the age of 63. Born in Barberton, Ohio, on July 2, 1961, Thom moved to the Carolinas in 1984 and called Little River, SC, home at the time of his passing.
Thom is survived by his two children: his older son, Aaron (Chelsea) Pifer, along with their children, Evelyn and Sebastian, and his younger son, Sean Pifer. He is also survived by his parents, Richard and Carole Pifer; his brothers, Michael (Sue) Pifer and John (Sharon) Pifer; his sister, Jill Pifer; and his girlfriend, Vickey Snyder. Thom cherished his family deeply and found great joy in the moments spent with them.
Thom retired in 2023 after a distinguished career in engineering. Known for his thoroughness, organizational skills, and passion for building things, Thom approached both work and life with meticulous attention to detail. He loved to travel, explore new places, and listen to music, finding joy and inspiration in these experiences.
Outside of work, Thom was passionate about many sports and loved golfing with his children. He was an enthusiastic supporter of Ohio State, enjoyed spending time at the beach—including participating in the yearly polar plunge—and loved riding motorcycles. Thom's vibrant spirit and zest for life will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Thom’s life and share their memories. Details of the memorial service will be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to a Brain Tumor Network.
Thomas Harold Pifer will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, North Strand Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
