Thomas (A.K.A. Champ) was educated in the Horry County Public School system and later studied to become a tailor. He had many cars but was avid Cyclist. He rode his bike until his health began to fail. Champ was known as a soft-spoken man but could be very outspoken when he needed to be. There are so many memories and so many stories yet to be shared about his life.

Thomas was devoted member of Macedonia AME Church, where he served on the Steward Board and the Male Choir. He loved to sing, pray and dance before the Lord. He would often give his church family some words of wisdom whenever he was given the microphone during morning worship. Champs favorite worship phrase was “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus” One of his favorite songs was “I Don’t Feel No Ways Tired” by James Cleveland.
