William Ford Obituary

William Legette Ford, Sr was born March 20,1945 in Marion county, South Carolina to Granston N. Ford and Erielake Ford Williams. He lost his father at a young age and was raised by his mother and stepfather, Van Williams. William Ford, better known as "Ford" departed this earth on Sunday March 1st peacefully at the Embrace Hospice House surrounded by his family. 

Ford grew up attending Horry County Schools. After moving to New Jersey at the age of 20 he met his soon to be wife, Marian Davis, whom he married on April 16, 1967. Together they moved back to the Bayboro community where they raised a family of three sons and were active members of the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. As a family they loved to travel and Ford always invited family and friends along to enjoy the adventures with them. They enjoyed a loving life of 43 years together until her passing in 2010. Ford enjoyed a lifelong career with Horry Telephone Company. After 35 years, he retired in 2004 and spent the next 16 years of his life enjoying the outdoors, traveling and playing the lottery with dreams of one day hitting it big. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

Ford was the husband of the late Marian Davis Ford. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted sons, William (Sheri) Ford, Jr. of Socastee, SC, Travers N, (Brandy) Ford of Conway, SC and Christopher L Ford, who preceded him in death; five grandchildren Maurice Jackson, Mason, Jada, Brayla and Trinity Ford; four brothers Van Williams of Goode Creek, SC, and was preceded in death by Horace Ford, Dewey Ford and Sonny Williams, one sister Joyce Ford who also preceded him in death, two brother-in-law Johnny Davis and James Arthur Davis, both of the Bayboro community, two sister-in-law- Marie Farewell and Rose Williams, one aunt Talphaline Ford and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and acquaintances. Ford also leaves behind one God-daughter Monique Graham and a special friend , Nethra Godbolt  of Aynor

 

Mr. William Ford, 74 of the Bayboro Community passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Embrace Hospice. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday March 7, 2020 at Ocean View Funeral Home, Conway chapel. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday March 8, 2020 at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in the Bayboro community. Ocean View Funeral home Conway Chapel is in charge of services.
