William "Bill" O'Hara, resident of Myrtle Beach, SC, succumbed to a terminal health disease on July 23, 2023, at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, SC. He was 71 years old.
He was born August 10, 1951, in Pittsburgh, PA, and was preceded in death by his parents, James Vincent O'Hara and Jane (Utts) O'Hara, and his sister, Jane (O'Hara) Mattern.
Bill was a longtime resident of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Myrtle Beach, SC. He graduated from Trinity Bible College in Dunedin, FL, and earned a B.A. in Political Science from Coastal Carolina University. As a young man, he enrolled in a flight club and earned numerous ratings to include student flight instructors. In his long career as a pilot, he logged over 11,000 hours of flight time!
Survivors are his wife, Maria at home. He always referenced his "two beautiful daughters," Victoria F. O'Hara and Christina J. O'Hara, residents of Alexandria, VA. His stepson Alberto Balderas-Carvajal and wife, Desi, are Myrtle Beach, SC residents. He loved his grandchildren, Benjamin O. Cadenas and Lorelei Balderas.
Before his illness, he was employed by Jorge Herrera Mejia at J & Son Builders, LLC.
Bill's passions were flying and surfing. His family and friends will miss him but are at peace knowing that he has flown away with the Lord to clear skies and glassy waves.
A private family memorial ceremony will be held.
Bill leaves us with one of his favorite scriptures from Matthew 7:7; “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”
The family wishes many blessings upon those who knew and treasured his friendship.
