Wilmer Austin Ruby

Wilmer Austin Ruby, III of Little River passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025. 

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Wilmer Austin Ruby, III (Bill), who resided in South Carolina for 50 years. Bill passed away at the age of 82. He was a commercial superintendent responsible for many buildings in the area, leaving a lasting legacy through his work.

Bill had a profound love for animals, especially his three beloved cats: Blacky, Turtle, and Snuggles. He cherished going on rides with his best friend Jesse and traveling with Susie. An Eagles fan for life, Bill also had a sweet spot for Tootsie Rolls and was known for his gentle soul.

A graduate of Penncrest High School, class of 1960, Bill was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Mae and Paul Allam. He is survived by his children: Billy Ruby, Terri Ruby Crowley (husband Mike Crowley), Traci Ruby Walker (husband George Walker), Matt Ruby (Wife Eileen Dougherty), Virginia Ruby, and Mickey Lattimore; and grandchildren: Dana, Renae, Michael, Crysta, Marissa, Sean, Mackie, Mattie, Mary, Bryan, and Jeffrey; and his extended friends and family who supported and loved him throughout the years. 

The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Horry County Animal Care Center.
